Tong Hong Beck — known as Beck — spent more than two decades at the centre of Southeast Asia's technology and telecommunications landscape. At 44, he became Group CEO and Executive Director of Nera Telecommunications Ltd, a company listed on the Singapore Exchange, operating across 13 countries with a focus on cybersecurity, network automation, and analytics.
Before Nera, Beck held senior roles at Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), where he built and launched MobilePay — one of Asia Pacific's first mobile payment platforms — and at PT Smartfren in Indonesia, where he led digital payments, digital advertising, and eCommerce. He began his career in the Singapore public sector, where he was a three-time Excellence Award winner and a Public Service Commission (PSC) Scholar.
Today, Beck works at the intersection of executive leadership and practical AI adoption — coaching senior leaders, advising on AI strategy for technology companies in Southeast Asia, and creating practical tools and frameworks that executives can use immediately.
